“And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another.
For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.”
2 Corinthians 3:18 (ESV)

“She’s glowing!” We often say this about a bride on her wedding day or someone radiating joy. A person’s expression often reveals their heart’s condition. God created our faces as windows to our souls, reflecting the transformation taking place within us.

When we experience the presence of the Holy Spirit through faith in Jesus Christ, an internal transformation begins. Our hearts, minds, will, and desires shift as we are conformed to His image. John Wesley described this as entire sanctification—a journey toward perfect love that overflows into every aspect of our lives. As Paul wrote, our “unveiled faces” should radiate the glory of God, unhindered by anything that blocks His light from shining through us to the world.

Lent is a season of transformation, a time to let the Holy Spirit work in us so that God’s glory shines brighter in our lives. We’ve all sung the song, “If you’re happy and you know it, clap your hands.” But joy in Christ isn’t just about clapping our hands—it’s about living as radiant reflections of His love, grace, and peace.

Today, as you interact with others, let the light of Christ shine through your expressions, actions, and words. Smile, not because life is perfect, but because God’s love is. As Methodist theologian Maxie Dunnam beautifully reminds us, “The Jesus in you wants to greet the Jesus in them, bringing you together in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.”

Jesus commanded us in Matthew 5:16, ”Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (NIV) So, let your face and life reflect His glory this week.
