“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you.
Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”
1 Corinthians 15:58 (NIV)

Hey friends,

Pastor Steve here, and I just want to start this week by saying: you made it. Easter has come and gone, and if you’re anything like me—and I know many of you are—it was both amazing and… let’s be honest, exhausting.

The season leading up to Easter is one of the richest times of the year in the life of the Church. We walk with Jesus through His final days. We reflect on the cross, we celebrate the resurrection, we preach, we pray, we plan—we pour everything we have into it. And yet, after it all, when the sanctuary is quiet again, many of us are left wondering…

Did it matter?
Did it reach anyone?
Was it enough?

If you’ve had those thoughts, you’re not alone. Paul must have known we’d wrestle with this, because he reminds us so clearly in 1 Corinthians 15, “your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” Let me say that again for someone who needs to hear it today: your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

The beauty of Easter isn’t just in the celebration, it’s in the reality that Christ is alive, and He’s alive in you. No matter how full your church was—or wasn’t—no matter how smooth your sermon went—or didn’t—Jesus remains the hero of the story. Not us. Not our performance. Just Him. St. Augustine once said: “Do not despair, one of the thieves was saved. Do not presume, one of the thieves was damned.”

What does that mean for us today? It means the results were never in our hands to begin with. We sow. He grows. We speak. He saves. And nothing you’ve done for Jesus is wasted. That song you led? That prayer you prayed? That tired smile you gave someone at the door on Easter morning? God was in it. He still is.

So here’s my encouragement to you this week: Take a breath. Rest. Reflect. And rejoice.

Celebrate what God has done—especially the things you didn’t see happen. Because He’s not finished. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead is still moving, still speaking, still working through you. Let’s be a people who stand firm. Let nothing move us. Keep showing up, friends, because the Holy Spirit isn’t done. In fact, I believe He’s just getting started.

Thanks for all you do for Jesus and for His Church. We’re in this together. And remember…

Your labor in the Lord is never in vain.

Blessings,
Steve
