Northeast Provisional Annual Conference of the Global Methodist Church Approved to Launch on January 1, 2024

The Global Methodist Church’s (GMC) Transitional Leadership Council has approved the Formation Proposal for the Northeast Provisional Annual Conference (PAC) of the GMC. This approval allows for the organizational structure to begin formal operation on January 1, 2024 to connect GMC churches and worshippers in 12 states and the District of Columbia in the Northeast U.S. This is the 19th approved provisional annual conference of the new world-wide Methodist denomination that launched on May 1, 2022 and now consists of over 4,500 churches and clergy around the world.

President Pro Temp of the Northeast PAC, Rev. Steven Taylor said, “We have been blessed to have hundreds of exceptional leaders working prayerfully and diligently over the past 2 years to be given the opportunity to launch our Provisional Annual Conference. We are excited to formally begin our Conference in order to foster this movement across the Northeast. There have been many hours of prayerful planning and meeting, caring for legal and insurance provisions, along with leadership development and culture-building. We are grateful to God, the Transitional Leadership Council, and Bishop Mark Webb, for their guidance and support as we begin this new path of worshipping in spirit and truth.”

The Northeast PAC is committed to keeping Jesus Christ at the center for all to recognize and deploy the spiritual gifts and contributions of each part of the church in
making disciples and sharing the Gospel. This exciting new movement is theologically conservative and founded in orthodox Wesleyan doctrine and practice. The Northeast PAC is a large geographic region which includes congregations from Maine to Maryland, from western New York to the East Coast, three counties in West Virginia and the eastern two-thirds of Pennsylvania. Currently the Northeast PAC has 160 member churches with more in the process of joining the movement throughout the region.

The Northeast PAC will hold its convening Annual Conference April 11-13, 2024 in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania to celebrate all that God is doing through this movement,
finalize the structure, and ordain GMC clergy. In the coming months, the Northeast PAC will increase outreach to member congregations and clergy, finalize plans for the Convening Annual Conference, establish regional districts to be led by Presiding Elders, and establish new systems to support clergy and churches to live the mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ who worship passionately, love extravagantly, and witness boldly.
